From November to March, a multidisciplinary team from Sumy State University participated in an intensive training program as part of the “STARTUP BREAKTHROUGH 5.0” acceleration program by Tech StartUp School of Lviv Polytechnic. The innovative project “Dr. Copper – antibacterial wound dressings with copper nanoparticles,” developed by representatives of the Department of Pathology, was presented for expert review.
The program brought together approximately 100 teams from across the country, with only 30 advancing to the DEMO DAY semi-finals. Following the expert selection, the “Dr. Copper” project was named among the top 15 startups that presented their final pitches on March 31. This high achievement was made possible through the coordinated efforts of the team, which included: Project Manager Anastasiia Denysenko (Assistant of the Department of Pathology), Investment Lead Roman Moskalenko (Head of the Department of Pathology), Prototype Testing Lead Anna Butsyk (Researcher at the SUMEYA Center), Dressing Manufacturing Lead Yuliia Varava (PhD Student at the Center for Biomedical Research), Copper Nanoparticle Synthesis Lead Liudmyla Ponomaryova (Head of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Chemistry), and Design and SMM Lead Anastasiia Shyrai (Student and Laboratory Assistant of the Department of Pathology).
Successful participation in the finals confirmed the high scientific and commercial potential of the Sumy researchers’ development in the field of modern biomedicine.
The “Dr. Copper” team expresses its sincere gratitude to the Tech StartUp School at Lviv Polytechnic for the opportunity to present their project and gain valuable experience for further development.
